Writing Our Wrongs, Inc. is a 501c3  that upholds equal opportunity guidelines and serves the interest of our youth. Volunteers must be 17 years of age or older. All volunteers are subject to background screening and must complete volunteer intake before being assigned.

WHAT PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE?

• We currently offer two workshops and two full program curricula, which are the "Power of the Pen" (Writing Track) and "Write It. Speak It." (Writing and Public Speaking Workshop)
• We are launching our newest program, WE Speak Academy, in August 2018. This program is a comprehensive public speaking development program for youth

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND STUDENT WORKSHOPS TO VOLUNTEER?

• No, you do not have to attend the in school and after school workshops to volunteer. W.O.W. has a variety of administrative and operational needs available on our list of available Volunteer Opportunities, and many of which are available for remote work to serve at your leisure. 

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK?

• Yes. All W.O.W. Team Members and Volunteers are required to complete and pass a full background check prior to being assigned a volunteer station or position. Additional screening may be required for volunteers who choose to serve in at risk facilities such as group homes, transitional housing or detention centers. 

CAN CHILDREN VOLUNTEER?

• All W.O.W. Volunteers must be 17 years of age or older to be selected and placed as a W.O.W. Volunteer.
