Why Writing Our Wrongs?
A Message from Founder, Melissa D. White
Hear from Founder/Executive Director, Melissa D. White the inspiration of why she started the Writing Our Wrongs Movement and what is in store for the future as we continue to empower youth to activate their voice.
Writing Our Wrongs, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to our mission to “Empower Youth to Activate Their Voice Through Writing and Speech.” We do so through our W.O.W. Pledge Card and Programs to educate youth on anti-bullying and social justice.
Our Mission: Empowering Youth to Activate Their Voice Through Writing and Speech.
Our Motto: Write the Change. Speak the Change. Be the Change.
The purpose is to share Pledge Cards with a positive affirmation to youth groups and schools of all grade levels and encourage them to commit to using their skills in writing and speaking out against social injustice and bullying.
Although our youth are not of age to vote, we want them to know that their voice is still powerful. We provide platforms and awareness through these pledge cards to teach youth how to write letters to government officials, speak out against bullying and wrongs against their peers and enhance their public speaking skills through our programs so they can grow to be active and model citizens.
